East Texas Treatment Facility (ETTF), owned and operated by MTC, is the largerst treatment facility within the State of Texas.  Licensed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, dedicated employees provide rehabilitation and educational services to support the successful community reintegration of offenders in the In-Prison DWI-Recovery, Substance Abuse Felony Punishment and Intermediate Sanction Treatment Programs.  ETTF fosters the professional development of all employees by providing a plethora of training and advancement opportunities while maintaining a truly "Believe It or Not I Care work atmosphere.

POSITION SUMMARY:     Reports administratively to the Helath Services Administrator and clinically to the director of nursing and the physician.  Directly supervises the nursing staff on the designated shift.  Performs duties concerned with the care of the sick and injured, prevention of illness and promotion of good health in compliance with MTC Medical and the East Texas Treatment Facility (ETTF).

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:        Degree in nursing and current, valid nursing license approved by the State Board of Nurse Examiners of Texas.  Two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a correctional facility.  strong computer, written and verbal communication skills desired.  Must possess current CPR certification.  Valid driver's license in the State of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

POST HIRE REQUIREMENTS:       Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
